Members encompass traditional to cutting-edge designer crafts.

The NCCS was founded in 1972 to:

• Set and reflect high standards in craft works

• Provide opportunities for members to interact socially, while encouraging continuing, professional development

• Raise public awareness of good design and high quality in small scale production

• Explore outlets for exhibition and sales

The Society welcomes new members - both exhibiting makers and Friends – to join us in achieving these aims.

Application details, Application form, full Society Rules and Members Agreement documents are included at the bottom of the page. Please click to download.

The majority of Society members are based in Norfolk and our President is Lady Walpole, who actively supports and encourages the promotion of Norfolk crafts. The Society is organised by a voluntary committee elected each year from the Members and Friends at the Annual General Meeting. Applications are also welcome from prospective new members and supporters who live in other parts of East Anglia or who have links with the Region and are interested to work with us in developing the Society.

The NCCS stages exhibitions and arranges events that are open to all members. A newsletter is sent to all members bi-monthly. The Society aims to set, and reflect, high standards in craft works, to explore outlets for selling and opportunities for members to meet socially, as well as to raise public awareness of good design and high quality in small scale production.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

There are three categories of NCCS membership. Subscriptions are renewable annually in October.

FULL MEMBER - £40

Full members' work has satisfied the Society's Selection Committee and are entitled to exhibit with us, display images of their work in the Society's publicity material and on the website.

Only full NCCS members can exhibit, so please consider applying to join the Society by contacting the NCCS Secretary with outline details and images of current work, exhibitions and training.

ASSOCIATE MEMBER - £25

Associate Membership may be awarded instead of Full Membership, when the Selection Committee believes that the applicant would benefit from mentoring during a preliminary year with the NCCS.

FRIEND - £20

Friends of NCCS are important partners in the administration and development of the Society. Included in the subscription, Friends can join the makers (free) at events and meetings and also receive the newsletter.

We welcome new Friends to join us - and especially appreciate those who could sit in at exhibitions or have organising skills to share in the fields of public relations and/or administration. They may or may not be makers and can choose how closely they become involved in the Society’s activities.

Please use the contact page to make initial enquiries about membership.
